Disconnection, Redirection, Infiltration Program
SD1 strives to develop and implement effective storm water management programs and policies that focus on preventing storm water pollution and managing the quantity and quality of storm water runoff in the region. The Disconnection, Redirection, Infiltration Program, or DRIP, provides homeowners with step-by-step guides to help them implement methods of managing storm water runoff in their own yards and neighborhoods.
-

SD1 offers comprehensive education programs to teach about storm water and wastewater. These programs help us meet regulatory requirements while educating, engaging and inspiring students and other members of the community.

Prescription Drug Drop-Off
To make it easier to dispose of expired or unwanted medications, prescription drug boxes are available across Northern Kentucky at 15 convenient locations.
-
Private Lateral Repair Program
The private sewer lateral program allows SD1 to perform work on defective private sewer laterals beneath public roadways that may be contributing to a visible pavement failure, building backup or sewer overflow.
-
Storm Drain Marking Volunteer Program
Many people dump oil and other pollutants into these storm drains, unaware that they empty directly into nearby streams where fish and other wildlife live. Storm drain markers inform the public that only rain should go down the storm drain - not oil, unwanted paint, grass clippings or other waste.
-
Storm Water Assistance Programs
SD1 offers local cities and counties (called Co-Permittees because they share responsibility for state and federal storm water regulation compliance) various storm water assistance programs to help fund solutions to remedy public and private storm water issues.
-
Wet Weather Overflow Notification Program
Planning a trip to the river? Be aware of potentially unsafe water conditions due to sewer overflows. Protect yourself and your family by knowing when and where to avoid water activities, including boating, wading, fishing and swimming.
